My name is Daiei Arai, & I'm proud to welcome you to my family & I's passion project - Japan CEO Gourmet.
I am a Tokyo-born local who studied abroad in California, USA; and during my time overseas, I noticed many of my friends visiting Japan were excited about trying the food, but ended up falling into tourist traps that locals would never visit, pay an ungodly amount of money for & spend precious time searching social media & Google Maps just to find a tourist centred restaurant!
Growing up with my mother as a CEO, who constantly spent her time practicing 'Settai' (A Japanese business practice where CEO's are very often required to take out customers & employees for meals, drinking etc.) and business hospitality, we always ate at the most incredible restaurants, and were required to know a spot for every imaginable situation.
Due to this strong culture around business hospitality towards customers, stakeholders and employees, as well as the strict and taxing job requirements - CEO's are known to have impeccable culinary knowledge amongst Japanese people.
And, from this.. the idea of JCG was born; a simple tool that anyone can use to experience amazing & local Japanese cuisine every single time on their trip to Japan, with restaurants all selected from Japanese CEO favourite spots.
